Maybe everyone was huddling round the fire... those days of coal fires were great, weren't they?

Ah - a real fire to sit around. I remember it well Valerie, only we had a turf fire instead of coal. No push button instant heat or artificial flames .... you've got me reminiscing now about "the old days"!

I remember peat fires from when I visited the north. In fact we brought some back to this country in the back of the car. Peat gave out such an unbelievable warmth which always made me sleepy.
