The Day My God Died

I posted a few videos on Youtube and somebody commented on my "Summer in Dublin"(Bagatelle). I had a look at his Youtube site and he had posted this documentary. It is a heartbreaking, sad, distressing account of how young girls, some just children are kidnapped and sold into prostitution in Asia. There is an organization called Sunlaap which is struggling to free them and help to rebuild their lives. I also read a book recently called "The Road Of Lost Innocence" by Somaly Mam on the exact same subject. It is an incredible book written by an incredible woman who suffered horrific abuse and who now helps others to escape from a life of misery and unbelievable pain.
I tried to watch this documentary but only got halfway before I had to swich it off because it was so distressing. Watch it but be prepared to cry!

Oh, I think I can imagine what this is all about. Unfortunately this goes on in so many places in the world.
I promise to return to watch it later today ( I am getting ready to go to work). Thank you for bringing our attention to this.
Have a lovely day,
xo

I hesitate before watching the video because I get too upset. I might come back later in the day. Unfortunately this is a BIG problem in our world, even in so-called civilised countries. Thank God for the people who try to do something about it.

Thanks for highlighting this! Trafficing of women is an horrific crime and a crime against humanity to be sure. Many Nepali girls (among others) are kidnapped and sold into prostitiution. There was an Indian hit film last year 'Ghajini' which touched on this subject although the move was actually a thriller! The more people who raise their voices against this and bring about the awareness the better, because this is how this can be stamped out.
