Dublin's Newest Bridge Under Construction

The Samuel Beckett Bridge which will open in 2010 will connect Guild Street on the northside with Sir John Rogerson Quay on the southside. Designed by Dr Santiago Calatrava it is cable-stayed with a span of 120 metres and will be capable of rotating through an angle of 90 degrees to facilitate maritime traffic. The new bridge will have four traffic lanes as well as cycle and pedestrian lanes.
