On Your Bike

Dublin City Council's "free" bike scheme has proved to be a great success. Based on a similar scheme in Paris and in other European cities the bikes can be used free for the first half hour after which a small fee is charged via the users credit card.
The photo's in my collage are taken in Parnell Street. In the top photo the Cycleways Bicycle Shop's window display has a fold-up model for sale at 980 Euro. But if you are a bit strapped for cash the bikes outside are a much cheaper option for getting from A to B.

We have those too.;) Bicycling is very Danish. However, the bikes are much worse quality then the ones you post here and only available from spring through autumn.;)

Everything here is spread out over long distances. Biking as transportation between point A and point B is almost impossible in most areas. Too bad because I loved biking as a kid.
