Went on one of these buses a year ago. The commentary was very good and often told with great humour. It's a brilliant way of learning the history of a place without having to walk your legs off!

We went on one of this type of open top bus in Rome last February. It was less of a sightseeing tour and more of a getting from place to place, though there was a pre-recorded commentary. I was determined to see as much as possible so I did look like that photographer.

Oh yes, those sightseeing open top buses (or say hop on hop off) are the most original and comprehensive way for discovering Istanbul’s tourist attractions. A 90 minute long tour gives a birdview chance to see the highlights on with many opportunities, to take photos of the minarets, mosques in this romantic ancient city. I took it when I was in Europe, the most enjoyable one for me the one in London.

I confess I never took the Dublin bus tour, but I must some day! I did do one in Oporto in Portugal this time last year from the same company as the one in my photo and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a great way of seeing a city and the great thing about "hop on hop off" is that you can explore at your leisure along the route.
