Big Jim

James (Big Jim) Larkin, socialist and trade union leader was born in Liverpool to Irish parents. He founded the Irish Transport & General Workers' Union and the Irish Labour Party and is perhaps best remembered for his role in the 1913 Dublin lockout.
This wonderful statue in O'Connell Street is by Oisín Kelly. To the left in my photo is the General Post Office(GPO) and you can see "The Spire" rising skywards on the right.

Hi:)

Lovely street scene with the imposing statue of James Larkin gesticulating to the workers and telling them to unite for a cause.

Best wishes:)
Joseph
